Some naive humor to make our internal Geek laugh a little bit:
Online Tutorial – Bypassing Content Filtering
I have just uploaded to Youtube an online tutorial about bypassing online content filtering, in this case through the aaplication NetNanny.
In the video are shown basic (but highly effective) techniques to be able to bypass the control measures provided by that Software, without the need of user privileges in the PC or high IT knowledge, demonstrating that any child or teenager can easily access content that should be blocked from their reach.
This video was created together with Pablo Kesler, lawyer specialized in computer crimes and a personal colleague of mine. Pablo is a young professional with many experience regarding computer laws, who provides an added value to his services because of his vast technical knowledge which allows him to introduce more efficiently in the legal aspects of the cases he takes.
The video takes part in a technical and legal analysis about the flaws and pitfalls of the current content filtering systems. The full article corresponding to the analysis can be read in the first edition of the Electronic Magazine of the Iberoamerican Computer Laws magazine, elderechoinformatico.com.
The moral of this video is to demonstrate that a better control system on a macro level should be implemented, from the Internet service providers, the search engines and the responsibles from each website.
I promise to have the CCs in both Spanish and English, as soon as I learn how Youtube’s subtitle system works.
