Encryption over Microsoft SQL Server

When managing an application security methodology, there are several ways of approaching it. Each method covers different portions of the data access flow, creating the so called "layered defense".

I leave you in this ocation with a document from Microsoft that addresses the management of encrypted database inputs, through native functionalities in its DB engine, MS SQL Server.

This way, an extra protection layer can be easily added, estabilshing an application security strategy in these layers:

  1. Encryption when generatin the information
  2. Encryption when exchanging information
  3. Encryption when storing information

A more graphic way to explain it can ve seen in the image provided by Microsoft in their article:

Starwind releases the new version of their iSCSI SAN with HA

To my readers I apologize for my 10 days of inactivity. I've had a lot of work and haven't had time to post anything.

Starwind will publicly release this monday the 5.0 version of their Software iSCSI SAN, which provides as its main functionality the possibility to create HA environments, through Active-Active clusters between their iSCSI Target nodes.

This functionality will create an exciting fight with the actual FC SANs, since the budgets needed to implement Starwind are far less than with its predecessors.

Mkit Argentina, company partner for all Spanish speaking community, it's been testing the technology for a couple of days now, to be able to implement it on its customers as soon as it reaches the market.

In November you will be able to find me speaking at Webinars to Spanish Speaking countries from around the world. As soon as I have more info on that, I will post it here so you can register.
