Free Malware and Cybercrime lecture (Onsite and Online)

Keeping up with the series of  Free Computer Security Courses, Cristian Borghello (Director of the Segu-Info community) will give a free lecture about Malware y cibercrimen at the offices of Mkit Argentina, presenting the Full course that will start on August 24th

The lecture will take place next monday, August 15th, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM ( GMT -3, Argentina) with both Onsite and Online attendance.

  • To attend in Online mode you can enter 30 minutes before the start of the lecture. In that link there's a "LiveMeeting waiting lobby" and when the event starts you will automatically enter the event.
  • To attend in Onsite mode at the City of Buenos Aires, since seating is limited, you must pre-register by sending and email to cursos[AT]segu-info.com.ar. There you will find out how to access the lecture.

To view the event Online you will need a LiveMeeting Plugin (Windows Installer) that I recommend having installed before the event starts. If you use Mac/OS or Linux you must install JAVA JRE 1.6 and when you access the event you will be able to install Office Live Meeting Web Access and access without problems.

Besides, we're riffling half a scholarship for those who win the challenge published in the 175th Segu-Info Newsletter.

BarCamp Litoral 2011: What Happened

After 2 weeks of the event, here is my brief :) :

On Saturday, May 7th, 2011 the BarCamp Litoral 2011 was held, at the city of Santa Fe, Argentina.

The event was pretty good, people from oll over the country (and even other countries) went to visit, and the talks were dynamic, entertained and with excellent contents.

Despite the inconveniences expectable at a "dis-conference", the event developed great and everybody went home happy.

I gave 2 talks, one about Security in GNU/Linux and the other one about Information theft in secure sessions. Both talks had a wide assistance rate and all the assistants were able to capture the contents perfectly. On the side, I gave Pirate Kits as a prize for the best questions made by them.

Here are the presentations of my talks (in spanish):

Seguridad en GNU/Linux (Security in GNU/Linux)

Robo de Informacion en sesiones seguras (Information theft in secure sessions)

Besides, Mkit Argentina presented as a Sponsor, so we were able to do raffles for Pirate Kits, scollarships for our Ethical Hacking courses, and an MP4 player !!

A true party. I met a lot of cool people, some Twitter users who I knew virtually and many followers who waited for this event to meet me.

I'd like to thank all the people at BarCamp Litoral for having me treated excellently. You were great hosts :)

Here are some pictures of the event:

See you in the next event.

Bye!

Online Challenge

Do you want to test your neurological skills?

Would you like to check your level of perception, attention, reasoning and Internet search abilities?

I leave you here this online challenge, made exclusively by me, in which you will have to crack some riddles in order to get to the end.

Each scenario is different and they will put in exercise your mind, patience and knowledge.

Even though the challenge requires a little computer background, you can find on the Internet anything you don't know about the exercises.

I started with just a few exercises and a low difficulty level, to see how do my followers react. Eventually I will add more levels and increase the challenge difficulty.

At the end you will find the necessary information to check that you actually finished it. You will win your place in the Hall of Fame, which I will publish here in my blog :)

I hope you enjoy it, and have as much fun doing it as I had making it.

Bye!
